University Challenge team ready to audition
15 December 2023
Congratulations to the five students whose quizzing prowess has seen them selected as Reading’s University Challenge team.
From appearing on the very first episode in 1962 to reaching the grand final in 2022, the University has a long history with the tough TV quiz. Hoping to win the top prize for Reading in the next series are:
- Rhiannon Snook (Team Captain), PhD in Philosophy
- Stuart Rock, part-time Postgraduate in History
- Mike Crone, Undergraduate in Law
- Kissani Selvaramesh, Undergraduate in Biomedical Sciences
- Joshua Finkelstein, Postgraduate in Agricultural Economics
Auditions will take place in London early in the Spring term, and we wish them well in their bid to make it to the televised rounds. If they are successful, first round matches will air from summer 2024.
Take the quiz
Could you have made the team? Take our University Challenge end of 2023 quiz and see if you've got what it takes.
We’ve selected just some of the questions that were put to aspiring quizzers at our own internal auditions in November.
The 10-question quiz is multiple choice – so as you ponder your answers, remember that our team didn’t have that helping hand.
There is no grand prize, just fun and bragging rights. Enjoy.
