Clearing 2023: Ways you can support our campaign
16 August 2023
Dear colleagues,
Our Clearing hotline will open on Thursday 17 August this year, offering those receiving their A-level results and others results, and those who don’t have a confirmed university place, the chance to study at Reading.
Clearing is especially important this year as increasing our student intake is critical to the income growth targets we have set to address current financial challenges. Although our increased recruitment targets do not apply until next summer, bolstering students numbers through Clearing this year will put us on stronger footing to meet that future objective.
What we need from you
Even if you are not directly involved with Clearing, you can support in the following ways:
- If you receive a call related to Clearing or confirming a place at Reading, please redirect it to the Clearing and Confirmation hotline on 0118 402 0900 so we can provide a swift response. This is as important to us as it is to them.
This single number is for all applicants and offer-holders to get information. It will again be managed from the Library on the following dates: - Thursday 17 August – 08:00-18:00
- Friday 18 August – 09:00-17:00
- Monday 21 August – 9:00 – 17:00
- Please help make prospective students and their families feel welcome during any visits. All students offered a place at the University through Clearing will be invited to book onto a campus tour, including an accommodation visit on Friday 18 August. Relevant colleagues may be contacted to help answer questions from visitors about subjects or life at Reading.
More information and FAQs are available on our Clearing webpage.
A big thank you to our Marketing and Recruitment colleagues who have been working hard on this year’s Clearing campaign and the Admissions team who have now confirmed the places of our undergraduate offer holders with results.
Thanks also to others across the University who are volunteering in the call centre and visit activities, and to everyone supporting this vital recruitment activity, even in a small way.
Kind regards,
Robert
