T&L funding awards to support DtC projects
13 September 2022
Following the recent announcement of our new resources to support colleagues to Decolonise the Curriculum, the DtC Working Group, led by Dr Al Laville, has established its focus areas for 2022/23.
-
Theme 1: Inclusive Teaching and Learning spaces and effective student-staff partnerships
-
Theme 2: Decolonising research
To inform part of the work within Theme 1, Dr Al Laville has been working with colleagues in CQSD to create T&L funding awards to support DtC projects across the University. For example, projects may include a focus on one of the following areas:
-
an initial listening exercise with students about how teaching content and teaching methods in your discipline could be decolonised and which initial steps could be taken
-
an evaluation of the changes you have made to a module to decolonise content/methods and seeking student views via a focus group
-
collaboratively designing and creating with student partners a decolonised approach to assessment methods
-
an evaluation on using the University of Reading Decolonising the Curriculum resources to inform your T&L practice and the realised benefits for students
There will be up to five DtC funding awards per academic year and the call for applications will align with the launch of CQSD’s 2022/23 Partnerships in Teaching and Learning (PLanT) Projects Funding Scheme in early October 2022.
