Royal Mail strike: No deliveries on these days
29 September 2022
Colleagues should expect no incoming or outgoing Royal Mail deliveries on six days over the next two months after further strike action dates were confirmed.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has called on its members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to join national strike action over pay and terms and conditions on the following dates:
- Friday 30 September 2022
- Saturday 1 October 2022
- Thursday 13 October 2022
- Thursday 20 October 2022
- Tuesday 25 October 2022
- Monday 28 November 2022
The strike action will impact the University’s postal services teams. Colleagues should assume that no letters or parcels will be delivered to or collected from the University by Royal Mail on these dates. Outgoing mail will leave the University on the next non-strike day.
Internal mail collections and deliveries will continue as normal.
The strike action will also impact Special Delivery and Parcelforce services. Items arriving via other carriers will be delivered in the normal way.
Colleagues are advised to use DHL for any mission critical UK deliveries, and to post early and allow for ongoing delays on non-strike days.
Further dates for functional strike action by Royal Mail workers, which could also disrupt incoming and outgoing deliveries, have also been announced in November and December.
See the Royal Mail website for more information on the strikes.
