Research Integrity webinar to explore ethics and culture
31 October 2022
Colleagues are invited to an online presentation exploring the pressures faced on researchers and challenges in ensuring research is ethical and of high quality.
The standards for research might look fairly straightforward, with robustness, rigorousness and transparency crucial at all stages. On Wednesday 16 November, James Parry, Chief Executive of the UK Research Integrity Office, will explore whether these assumptions are correct or if we need to think a bit more about what ethics and integrity mean for our research.
He will discuss how research culture - the environment and ethos of research organisations - can impact the quality and ethical standards of research, and whether incentives and competition improve the conduct of research or increase mistakes and other problems.
