Give a gift to someone in need
28 November 2022
Colleagues can help spread a little festive cheer by taking part in the Giving Tree campaign and giving someone in need a gift to open on Christmas day.
A Christmas tree in the Library foyer has been adorned with gift tags containing items requested by people supported by homelessness charity Launchpad or by the Royal Berkshire Hospital, and a bit of information about the person.
Colleagues are welcome to take a tag and purchase the gift on it, which will be donated in time for Christmas.

Art supplies, gardening gifts, and wash bags are just some of the things on the wish list. The gifts that have been requested are small, but could make a big difference to someone in our local community.
The University and RUSU has pledged to donate 50 gifts this year. The Connect Reading campaign matches gift givers with more than 20 charities in and around Reading.
Winter Festival
Keeping with the festive theme, the University’s Winter Festival takes place on Thursday 1 December at the Palmer Quad. There will be carols, an arts and crafts market, and other festive treats.
All colleagues and students are invited to join from 17:30-19:00.
