Armistice Day to be marked at campus services
03 November 2022
Colleagues, students and members of the local community are invited to mark Armistice Day at services of memorial on campus.
Brief services will again be held at each of our UK campuses on Friday 11 November, where we will remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country as well as students and staff who have passed away over the last year.
The services will be hosted by a member of the University Executive Board and supported by the University Chaplains. A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.
They will be open to staff, students and members of the local community, of all faiths and none.
Anyone who wishes to gather to mark the occasion is invited to do so at 10:50 on Friday 11 November at the following locations:
- Whiteknights campus: Rear flagpole (between the Library and Whiteknights House)
- London Road campus: Peace Garden
- Greenlands campus: Flagpole near the cattle grid
Colleagues teaching at this time are requested to be considerate of any students wishing to attend the services.
If you would like the name of a colleague or student who has died during the past year to be read out at the services, please email chaplaincy@reading.ac.uk by Monday 7 November.
