University Teaching Fellowship Scheme opens
14 March 2022
We are pleased to announce the launch of this year’s University Teaching Fellowship Scheme (UTFS).
The University Teaching Fellowship is a prestigious award for colleagues who have demonstrated individual excellence, and made a significant contribution to the development of teaching and learning at the University. It is designed to support staff to develop further in this area.
Dan Grant, one of the UTFs awarded in 2021, recently commented:
“The best thing for me about being awarded my UTF last Summer was becoming a member of the UTF Community of Practice. It is great to have the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the University with such enthusiasm, experience and expertise in Teaching & Learning.”

Please visit the scheme page to find out more about the UTFS, and follow the ‘How to apply’ link to view the criteria and guidance for applications and to complete the application form. The scheme is open to all teaching and teaching support staff across the University.
The closing date for submissions is 17:00 on Monday 23 May 2022.
University Collaborative Awards for Teaching & Learning
We are also pleased to confirm that we will be extending the deadline for applications to this year’s University Collaborative Awards for Teaching & Learning scheme to 17:00 on Monday 25 April 2022. These awards recognise and reward groups of colleagues and students who have made exceptional, significant and ongoing contributions to the student learning experience.
Teams interested in the University Collaborative Awards might wish to draw on collaborative work that they have engaged in as part of the pandemic response. Some examples could include:
-
identifying and designing new ways of working that support student learning in a blended or online learning environment
-
developing innovative extra/co-curricular opportunities that maintain students’ sense of belonging to an academic community
-
working with students to substantially re-develop an existing module incorporating innovative online delivery methods.
Please visit the scheme page to view further details and to access the application form. You can read about last year's winning teams in our Staff Portal article.
