Information Security and Data Protection training
30 March 2022
The University will be introducing annual refresher training from Monday 4 April.
In the face of growing cyber security threats, and in response to some commonly reported information security incidents, a new training module for staff has been created. This will inform all staff of the most common risks, give advice on how everyone can help to keep University information secure, and provide links to resources, related policies and guidance.
The module will take around 20 minutes to complete and contains a short knowledge check.
From Monday 4 April, all staff with a current UoRLearn account, who completed the existing Data Protection and Information Security modules more than a year ago, will receive an alert via email asking for the new annual refresher course to be taken. Those that have taken the existing courses more recently will receive this when a year from completion has elapsed. New staff joining UoR from the 4 April will complete the existing courses only initially.
All staff with a UoRLearn account will be expected to take the course annually and reminders will be sent to your email account from within UoRLearn when a year has elapsed.
If you receive this alert, please follow the instructions provided and complete the course within the next 30 days.
