Parent network fostering event
15 June 2022
The Parents & Family Network organised a session on fostering recently.
Led by the representatives from a not-for-profit company, Brighter Futures for Children, the session reflected on what fostering is and the support available to anyone thinking of fostering.
It also heard from a current foster carer, Rebecca, and one of our students, Sophie, who shared her care experience.
Brighter Futures for Children is owned by, but independent of, Reading Borough Council. It took over the responsibility for the delivery of children’s services in Reading in December 2018.
It helps families find long-term solutions to ensure children lead happy, healthy and successful lives.
Reading has a real shortage of foster carers. So if you are interesting fostering children, please watch a recording of the session.
