New Academic Year model for 2024/25
27 June 2022
The new Academic Year model for 2024/25 has been confirmed following an extensive engagement process with key stakeholders (including the Leadership Group, RUSU Officers / Student Reps, UCU and the Staff Forum and an appointed Diversity and Inclusion panel). This is a major part of the Portfolio Review Pathway and will support the key aims of improving the student experience and improving staff workloads, by enabling us to better organise our teaching activities, bringing us in line with the majority of the sector.

Next Steps
Over the next year the Portfolio Pathway team will work with colleagues to ensure our programmes and supporting T&L operations are ready to work within the new structure. We will also consider how to apply the new Academic Year to programmes with non-standard dates and to our partnership programmes and branch campus programmes; and provide guidance on the impact on other operational activities, for example events timing, outreach activities and student accommodation requirements.
The Portfolio Review Breakfast Drop-in session on 14 July will be focusing on the changes to the academic year and colleagues can sign up for this session here: UoRLearn
