The University is inviting applications for the Head of School of the Built Environment. The appointment will be made for a period of six years, starting on 1 September 2022.
This role is only open to internal candidates and you will need to provide a statement of interest and suitable (of no more than 1000 words) by 17:00 on Friday 8 July.
The Head of School is responsible for providing the School’s academic leadership, and will also contribute to the broader leadership within the wider University. They will also be responsible for chairing the University Board for Architecture.

Head of School – School of the Built Environment
Our institution is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce and we welcome applications where a flexible working pattern and/or a job share is proposed. Specifically, we welcome applications where it is proposed to take up the role as half of a job share (and no indication is needed as to who the other half might be). We also welcome coordinated applications from two separate members of staff proposing to undertake the role as a job share.

Shortlisting and interview dates
Shortlisting will take place week commencing 11 July 2022.
Candidates will be invited to undertake a short presentation to colleagues in the School, setting out their key priorities for the School, should they be appointed. Following the presentation there will be the opportunity for colleagues in the School to ask questions of each candidate – this will take place on 19 July 2022 in the afternoon.
Interviews will take place during August 2022.
