Help increase understanding of our University community
21 July 2022
One of the University’s 2026 Diversity and Inclusion targets is to improve our declaration rates for disability status, gender reassignment, race and sexual orientation. The University has set some ambitious targets for increasing them, but we can only do this with everyone’s help.
By completing the confidential information questions on Employee Self Service you provide information that will contribute to our understanding of what our community looks like and help ensure that we are a diverse, inclusive and supportive community of people, as outlined in our strategy towards 2026.
We use collated information from everyone’s responses to provide the statutory returns to HESA required of us as an HEI and to inform us about our University community. Knowing more about this can help us focus on any issues and consider how best to support everyone working at the University of Reading. It also helps us to keep track of our progress against other key D&I targets, including the recommendations arising from our Race Equality Review (2021).
The questions are linked to characteristics protected under the Equality Act 2010 and your responses are kept confidential. Please get involved and update your details today.
