Reading in quarter-finals of University Challenge tonight
14 February 2022
The University of Reading will be competing for a place in the semi finals of University Challenge tonight on BBC Two. They will be facing Imperial.
So far in this year’s competition the team has defeated:
-
First round: University of Strathclyde 175-110
-
Second round: University of Dundee 245-50
-
First quarter-final: 170-135
Our 2021 team is made up of students:
-
Michael Hutchinson (team captain) – studied for a PGCE in Maths
-
Kira Bishop – studying for a BSc Mathematics and Psychology
-
Margaret Ounsley – studying for a PhD in Poor Law History
-
Sylvian Patrick Jesudoss – studying for a PhD in Marketing at Henley Business School
Kira Bishop has joined the team owing to Alex Scopik’s return to the USA. Kira has been a big part of the team throughout preparations so should fit right in, and Sarah Turvey (studying for a Master’s in Education) is now the primary reserve team member.
We wish them the best of luck and hope their fine run continues!
The show will air on BBC Two at 20:30 on Monday 14 February.
