Knight building and car park lease

The Knight building is due to be let to Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) who will undertake work to refurbish the property commencing on Monday (5 December).

The letting which is for a period of 13 years helps to further develop the University’s long standing relationship with RSSL, brings back into use a building that was earmarked for demolition, and generates a long term income for the University.

The agreement includes Car Park 3, which will be solely used by RSSL, first by its contractor as their site compound whilst they carry out work on the building and then by its employees.

University colleagues and visitors should alternatively use nearby car parks 2, 4 and 16 from next week.

Construction works will be monitored by the University and further notification provided in due course where appropriate.
