Apple devices require urgent updates
19 August 2022
If you have an iPhone, iPad or MacBook, DTS recommends that you upgrade as soon as possible.
Apple have announced that some significant vulnerabilities have been found in their software and have as a result released new versions of iOS (iPhones), iPadOS (iPads) and macOS (Macs).
The latest software versions are 15.6.1 (iOS, iPadOS) and macOS Monterey 12.5.1
DTS are asking all University staff who use a MacBook, iPhone or iPad to update their devices as soon as possible.
DTS have pushed the updates out to all devices on JAMF, though this still requires your input, a popup will be seen, and it advised to complete the update as soon as possible.
If you have a MacBook, it’s a requirement that it is registered in JAMF which allows DTS to ensure that your device is up-to-date on software, this is the first line of defence against Cyber Security attacks and it is now more important than ever to ensure that our estate is protected.
If your device is not registered on JAMF, please do so immediately by following the instructions in the DTS Self Service Portal: Enrolling your MacOS Device to JAMF – once your device is enrolled, you will also have the University of Reading AntiVirus software automatically installed.
Instructions for upgrading iPhones and iPads is available from Update your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support (UK)
