Portfolio Review: Breakfast drop-ins
06 April 2022
The Portfolio Review Pathway team would like to thank colleagues for attending the recent informal breakfast drop-in session on the 29 March and for the very active discussion and Q&A session.
As we move into the implementation phase, the Pathway is organised across two Workstreams, one with oversight for programme design and one with oversight for operational requirements which support the programme changes. Overall, this work will embed the changes to the academic year structure, the updated curriculum framework, changes to programme and module structures and the use of technology to enhance the student experience.
The latest drop-in session was led by Elizabeth McCrum, PVC (Education and Student Experience), supported by Dan Grant (Teaching and Learning Dean) and Nina Brooke (Academic Staff Development Manager). It focused on the programme redesign activities that Schools are undertaking and on the Learning Design methodology that Schools will use to help support this work.
In making these changes, we are working with Schools to:
- improve the quality of the student experience and increase student satisfaction
- improve academic and professional services staff workloads
- reduce the volume and complexity of the current portfolio of programmes and modules
- ·offer a more coherent portfolio to prospective students
- reduce the demand on and make better use of our resources.
You can review the slides from the session and further information about the Pathway, its aims and its progress is on the Staff Portal.
The next informal breakfast drop–in is at 9am on Thursday 19 May, hosted by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth McCrum and the Workstream Leads (Anne-Marie Henderson, Charlotte Coleman, Katja Strohfeldt and Louise Hague). They will provide an update on progress across the pathway, both programme design and enabling operations.
You can register to attend the next drop-in on UoRLearn.
