Covid Case Management at Reading this autumn - informal secondment opportunity
29 September 2021
As we enter a new academic year, we are looking for expressions of interest in an informal secondment opportunity for a small number of colleagues to join our Case Management Team (CMT) service this term.
This will be initially for the autumn term, but this will be reviewed and may be for a longer period. Colleagues must be able to start working for the CMT from as soon as possible; ideally either w/c 4 or 11 October. Training will be provided on Case Management systems and information.
Expressions of interest in the opportunity should be sent to Fiona Blair (f.j.blair@reading.ac.uk) by no later than Thursday 7 October.
What we are looking for:
- This opportunity is open to colleagues from any part of the University, in any role or grade
- Individuals who are able to give 2-3 full days of support during the working week (i.e. Monday to Friday 9am-5pm)
- Colleagues must have a good attention to detail, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Tools; e.g. Excel, Outlooks, Teams
- Knowledge and experience of using RISIS and CMISGO (timetabling tool) would be beneficial but is not essential
- Line manager permission must be sought in advance of submitting an expression of interest

o Effective collection, recording and management of case data
o Provision of advice and support by phone and email to those who have reported a positive test result to the University
- Liaison and collaborative working with a range of other UoR staff and associated teams – including Student Services, Hall wardens, UPP

- Monitoring of case volumes and trends to support potential escalation measures and decision making
Context
Our University Case Management Team, a group of volunteers from across the University, was set up last October 2020 and has played a critical role in helping to minimise transmission of COVID-19 across our community of colleagues and students.
Their work provides a complementary service to the NHS Test and Trace scheme enabling quick tracking of close contacts within all University settings and monitoring of trends across our activities to ensure we could prevent outbreaks from developing.
We cannot thank enough our colleagues involved in CMT to date, for the work they have done to support us all.
