Disability History Month continues

UK Disability History Month continues until 18 December, and there are still a number of events for colleagues to attend.
The Disability and Neurodiversity Review team is also looking for colleagues to share their lived work experiences through an anonymous survey, closing date is Wednesday 15 December.

Stonewall Digital Workshop: Understanding and Reflecting the Experiences of LGBTQ+ People with Disabilities In recognition of International Day of People with Disabilities, Stonewall are running an open workshop focused on the experiences of LGBTQ+ people with disabilities. This session will help you confidently ensure that your work reflects and celebrates the community. This is a brilliant opportunity to understand best practice and share ideas on how to create inclusive workplaces. |

#PurpleLightUp We are inviting all colleagues and students to wear something purple and share photos if they wish on social media with the hashtags #IoEPurpleLightUp and #PurpleLightUp. #PurpleLightUp is a global movement by Purple Space celebrating the economic contributions disabled employees make but also more widely celebrating disability. |

Empowering Neurodiversity Delivered by Lexxic, brought to you by the University of Reading Diversity and Inclusion team, this event focuses on neurodiversity and inclusive language. The University’s Neurodiversity and Disability Review so far has highlighted a need for us to provide an introductory level of understanding for those students and colleagues who would like to develop their understanding of neurodiversity and the inclusion of neurodiverse individuals.
