New Director of Careers and Employability
21 May 2021
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Delauzun as our new Director of Careers and Employability, who has been Acting Director of this team since Andrea Kreideweiss left the University in July 2020.
Anne joined Reading in March 2018 as Careers Consultancy Manager, following roles as a Careers Consultant across a number of University of London colleges (including in Paris) as part of The Careers Group, and latterly as Deputy Head of Careers and Employability at Royal Holloway.
In her early career, Anne worked on capacity-building and professional development projects with small charities, arts organisations and creative practitioners. Through her MA in Careers Education, Information & Guidance in Higher Education with the University of Warwick, Anne explored her research interests in peer influence on career behaviours and social justice in careers work. As a member of the AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) Anne supports practitioner-led research, and research-informed practice.
Anne said: “It’s a real privilege to continue to lead my dedicated and professional colleagues in the Careers and Placements team. Student engagement with our careers support has grown significantly in recent years and the team have shown great creativity and flexibility in in evolving our provision, particularly in the recent exceptional circumstances. We’re now in a strong position to meet the many challenges ahead, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the institution to ensure all our students are prepared for and inspired to achieve career success.”
Paddy Woodman, Director of Student Services said: “I am truly delighted that we have appointed Anne to this very important role. Anne represents the perfect blend of a leader who values the trajectory that the Careers Service has been evolving over recent years and will therefore build on that significant momentum, with someone who also brings a range of fresh perspectives and insights to the role. Anne has successfully steered the Careers Service through some very challenging times over recent months and I have no doubt will shape a very effective and supportive Service in the post pandemic world of UoR.”
The Careers team has continued to provide outstanding student support throughout the pandemic, including hosting many online events, such as the forthcoming Graduate Recruitment & Internship Festival, 9-11 June.
