EU Settlement Scheme closing soon
16 June 2021
Most colleagues who are European Union (EU) nationals, or are dependent of an EU national, would have already applied for and received a settled/pre-settled status to continue living and working in the United Kingdom.
If you have not, this is a reminder that the deadline for making an application is 30 June 2021.
The scheme is free to apply for and you can find more information on the Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (settled and pre-settled status) website.
If you are a manager, you may be aware that the UK introduced a new points-based immigration system from 1 January 2021. Under this system, EU (excluding Irish) and non-EU citizens are treated equally and anyone wishing to live and work in the UK will require a visa to do so.
A Skilled Worker visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa, allowing an individual to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer.
Our staff recruitment processes have been updated to reflect these changes, and you can contact your HR Partner if there are any questions.
Colleagues may find other relevant information on the Brexit FAQs webpage.
