‘Engaging Dads’ workshop with Music.Football.Fatherhood
14 June 2021
The Parent and Family Network invites you to an exciting event about ‘Engaging Dads’, led by Elliott Rae from the organisation Music.Football.Fatherhood, at 11:00 on Thursday 17 June.
It will be an online event that promises to be fun, interactive, informative and thought-provoking - intending to start a conversation about workplace culture and policies, and their impact on family and work life.
The active involvement of both parents in parenting duties at home has clear benefits for families, for relationships, for childcare, for business and for wider society. Engaging dads in the conversation around parenting and childcare is key to promoting better gender equality in work and at home.
This event is open to everyone, including dads, mums and any colleagues interested in improving workplace policies and culture for working parents.
You can register for the event via this form: https://forms.office.com/r/K1KCv9vt1Q.
Personal experiences
Elliott is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Music.Football.Fatherhood, which he started after the birth of his daughter.
In 2019 he was named ‘Change Maker of the Year’ by the United Nation’s UN Women UK for his work on gender equality. He has written and spoken extensively on modern fatherhood, being a working dad and his personal experience of black fatherhood.
We will then hear from dads at the University about their experiences and what more can be done to facilitate working dads in the workplace.
Music.Football.Fatherhood
Musicfootballfatherhood.com(external website) is a parenting and lifestyle platform for men - “the dads’ version of Mumsnet”. It is an online community of fathers and men looking to be fathers in the future.
The website offers a space to talk, to listen and to read about things that are important to dads; things like work-life balance, careers, raising healthy and well-rounded children, money management, relationships and of course music and football.
