Disability & neurodiversity panel event
14 July 2021
Join us on Thursday 22/July at 13:00 for our Disability and Neurodiversity Panel Event hosted by Inclusion and Wellbeing Consultant, David Hull-Watters, a Neurodiversity in the Workplace and LGBTQ+ Mental Health and Wellbeing specialist.
The aim of this event is to explore and share a diverse range of experiences of disability, neurodiversity, and long-term health conditions within the staff population at the University of Reading, as part of our Disability & Neurodiversity Review.
This event is free for all staff to attend and will be hosted on Teams. British Sign Language Interpreters will be present at the event, and below is some more information on accessibility for Microsoft Teams so that all colleagues are able to participate in the event.

Accessibility on Microsoft Teams
There are a variety of features in Teams to improve accessibility, including support for screen readers, live captions, transcripts and more. Microsoft has produced lots of guidance on how to best make use of these. Colleagues who are deaf or hard of hearing may find that using meeting functionality where possible for one-on-one calls may allow them more options than using normal dialling, and colleagues may wish to read about how to set up Teams meetings for deaf colleagues and those with hearing difficulties
If colleagues have a more specific accessibility concern, please contact the Occupational Health team or the DTS teams. Help can include the provision of additional technology, such as specialist headsets. Please make a request through the DTS Self Service Portal.
