What to do if you don't need a parking permit?

A number of colleagues have asked about the continued payment for parking permits even though many of these permits are not being used.

As we advised in an article on the Staff Portal last summer, please contact campusparking@reading.ac.uk if you do not need a parking permit. A member of the Campus Parking team will support you through the cancellation process, and inform Payroll to stop the parking charges being deducted from your salary.

Once campus activities have started to get back to normal, you can choose to either apply for a parking permit or consider alternative modes of transport. More information, including any staff discounts, is available on our Sustainable Travel website.

The University's 45 car parks are managed by our Campus Services and Maintenance colleagues. The money from parking permits contributes to the upkeep of these car parks, including remedial works, signs and small-scale CCTV improvements.
