Heavy rains cause flooding in Malaysia

Heavy rains in Malaysia’s southern state of Johor have caused flooding and disruption in many parts. Among the districts affected is Johor Bahru, where our University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) campus is located.

We spoke with UoRM colleagues this morning and they report that our campus in Educity and our colleagues – most of who live close the campus – are safe.

Vice-Chancellor Robert Van de Noort has written to UoRM Provost Wing Lam, asking about the wellbeing of our Malaysia colleagues and offering support.

Malaysia is currently in the monsoon season, which lasts until March.
