Edith Morley Lecture featuring Scarlett Curtis
Monday 1 March 2021, 19.00 - 20.15
Teams Live
To mark International Women's Day, we were delighted to present this annual event in memory of Edith Morley, believed to be the first woman to be awarded the title of professor in a British University.
This year, this special event will feature writer, activist, podcaster and journalist, Scarlett Curtis. Scarlett is the curator of the Sunday Times Bestseller and National Book Award winning "Feminists Don't Wear Pink & other lies" and curator of Sunday Times Bestselling book "It's Not Okay to Feel Blue & other lies".
In 2017 Scarlett co-founded The Pink Protest; a feminist activist collective committed to helping young people take action online and in everyday life. To date they have been a part of campaigns that have changed two laws; a bill to help end period poverty and a bill to get FGM into the Children's Act.
Scarlett was awarded the Changemaker Award for young activists presented by Equality Now, Gucci and CHIME FOR CHANGE in November 2019.
This will be an unmissable event - if you'd like to take part, please use our online registration form to secure your place. A link to join the event will be sent to you ahead of the lecture.
