Celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight 2021
22 February 2021
Every year, our community comes together in celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight, which this year takes place between 22 February and 7 March.
The COVID-19 pandemic means that we can't come together in the way we usually would, but there are still many things you can do from the comfort of your own home!
Fairtrade Zoom Quiz
Tuesday 2 March, 20:00-21:00
The University Chaplaincy will be holding a Fairtrade-themed Zoom quiz on Tuesday 2 March, 20:00-21:00.
Students can play for a chance to win a £50 or £25 gift voucher for the RISC World Shop - although colleagues are more than welcome to play along too. The quiz will be held on Zoom - please use this Zoom meeting link to join. The meeting ID is 764 485 8005 and the passcode is 1.
Fairtrade Baking Challenge
Closes Wednesday 3 March
Please join the University of Reading in the Fairtrade Baking Challenge!
Make something delicious in aid of Fairtrade and be in with the chance to win one of 3 prizes. All you need to do is use as many Fairtrade ingredients as possible and make something, it's that simple! You can bake something sweet or savoury - as long as you're using Fairtrade ingredients, you can be as creative as you like!
A prize will be awarded to the winner of each of our three categories - Best looking student entry, Best looking staff entry and Most quirky & creative entry.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions we can't taste the entries, so please enter using the UoR Fairtrade Fortnight hashtag #UoRFairtradeChallenge.
Entries will close on Wednesday 3 March and all winners will be announced on Friday 5 March.
Further information is available on our Get Together Apart page, including ideas for recipes.
New Fairtrade activities in JUMP
The Sustainability Services team has added four new Fairtrade activities to the sustainability incentive platform, JUMP. Colleagues who complete these activities will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a £20 gift voucher to spend at the RISC World Shop
