Applications invited for CeLM Director
16 February 2021
We are inviting applications for the role of Director of CeLM, who will take over from Professor Ludovica Serratrice who is stepping down at the end of this academic year.
CeLM aims to be recognised as a leading, internationally renowned hub for research into linguistic, psychological, clinical and educational aspects of literacy and multilingualism.
The role is an exciting opportunity for experienced members of staff to lead one of the 10 University recognized interdisciplinary research centres, bringing together colleagues across research divisions and themes to conceive and undertake groundbreaking research that informs policy, practitioners and the general public.
The Director reports to the Head of School where she/he sits and is supported by the Research Dean for Prosperity & Resilience, who acts as sponsor for the Centre. A leadership development programme is available to support the Director in the role.
CeLM is supported primarily by the School of Literature and Language, the Institute of Education and the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences. Applications from staff from other schools, with relevant experience in the areas of focus of the Centre are also welcomed.
The successful candidate will undertake the role alongside his/her normal duties, with a time allocation of 0.20 FTE for the role covered by the Director’s School. The role will commence on 01 August 2021 and it is expected to be for a period of four years.
Our University is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce and receiving applications from the widest range of backgrounds will help us recruit a diverse and inclusive senior leadership.
Given the under-representation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic colleagues in leadership roles, we are particularly keen on applications from these groups.
