Open Research Champions wanted
04 February 2021
The University today launches a call for colleagues and PhD students to become Open Research Champions.
This exciting new initiative is being undertaken as part of the University's Open Research Action Plan. We are seeking to create a community of Champions working across the University to promote Open Research, provide information and support to peers and colleagues, and facilitate the adoption of open and reproducible research practices.
We are looking for researchers, members of staff connected with research, and PhD students working in the arts, humanities, social sciences and sciences who are willing to spend a small amount of their time helping to build a culture of Open Research at the University. In return we offer Champions opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills; to raise their public profile and extend their networks, both within and outside the University; to inform University strategy and service development; and to obtain funding for Open Research activities. Champions will receive training and support from the Library's Research Engagement team.
Appointments of Open Research Champions will be made for a 12-month term from April 2021, and may be renewed by a further 12 months on request.
The call for Open Research Champions is open for applications until 12.00 on Friday 5th March 2021. There will be an information session on Tuesday 16th February at 13.00-14.00, which anyone who is interested may attend. You can book your place on the event listing page.
