Join this month’s Interdisciplinary Learning Group session where Dr Masilin Gudoshava will be telling us about the role of climate modelling.
She will discuss the paper titled ‘Characterization and variability of Kiremt rainy season over Ethiopia’.
Masilin is a climate modelling expert at the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) in Nairobi, Kenya. Her work primarily involves sub-seasonal to seasonal forecasting. She has a particular interest in producing tailored forecasts that cater to the specific needs of various climate-sensitive sectors, such as agriculture, health and disaster management.
About the group
The group meets on Zoom on the second Monday of every month, from 13:00-14:00, to share science and perspectives on climate change.
With the need to address climate challenges becoming ever more pressing, this group aims to bridge the gaps between diverse fields, delivering a more cohesive view of risk and adaptation.
It aims to foster intellectual exchange and collaboration among Reading University students, staff, and individuals from other interested institutions across the My Climate Risk regional hubs.
