Environmental crisis lecture: Eating locally - good or evil?
Date 15 November 2023
Time 17:30 - 18:30
Location Palmer 103, Whiteknights campus
Event Information
Is a local and seasonal food system always the best for sustainability and health?
Come along to this talk by Professor Carol Wagstaff, Research Dean for Agriculture Food and Health, where we will discuss farming systems, impacts on biodiversity and the Dimbleby food strategy to explore this question.
This lecture is part of a series on the natural environment and the impact of humans on it, run by student society Reading Environmental Crisis Community (RECC).
Everyone is welcome - including staff, students and members of the public.
The talks are intended to be accessible for people who might not be familiar with these topics but want to know more. They should also be exciting for those who are already familiar with these issues to hear new perspectives and discuss them with likeminded people.
About RECC
RECC is a group run by Reading PhD students, whose aim is to learn, campaign and create a community of people centred around environmental topics.
