Event Information
An exhibition remembering environmental defenders who have lost their lives and revealing how you can help fight back against ecological destruction in the Amazon rainforest is coming to the Library on Whiteknights campus.
The exhibition, ‘For Dom, Bruno & the Amazon’, responds to the murders of Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira, who were killed in the Javari Valley of the Amazon in June 2022.
It was put together by BAFTA-winning journalist Alison Cahn, together with Reading colleague Domonique Davies and her sister Rhiannon - Dom's nieces - and author Fiona Frank, and with the support of academics, journalists and filmmakers, activists, and campaigning organisations.
The exhibition has been travelling the UK for the past year, and we now have the valuable opportunity to see it at the University.
The exhibition will also offer some hopeful solutions and invite visitors to consider ways they can get involved and support positive change in the region.
