You Are Stronger Than You Think

Colleagues are invited to join RUSU’s Self Defence Society for You Are Stronger Than You Think, its first ever conference dedicated to battling sexual harassment, assault, and violence.  

Vice Chancellor Professor Robert van de Noort will give an update on the #NeverOK campaign to address harassment and other unacceptable behaviour on campus.  

He will also address the expectations the Office for Students has around preventing harassment and sexual misconduct, and our work with our local community to make the University a safer place to work, live and study.  

This student-led event will help fight harassment and violence by educating and bridging the knowledge gap which often leaves survivors discouraged and less likely to come forward. 

Over the course of the afternoon you will learn how to: 

Identify your legal rights in these cases. 
Understand the police reporting system, consequences, and options. 
Take legal action and where to get wellness support. 
Access University services available to support you.
