Running Out of Time fun run and relay handover
Date 07 October 2022
Time 15:00 - 16:00
Location Atmospheric Observatory, Whiteknights campus
Event Information
All staff and students are invited to join a campus fun run as part of a historic event in support of climate action.
Runners should gather next to the Atmospheric Observatory at 3pm (just to the north of Building 54 on the Whiteknights campus map) ready to commence at 3.25pm as the baton is handed over in the Running Out of Time relay.
The relay is an international challenge carrying a message of hope on climate change all the way to Egypt, where it will be delivered to world leaders at COP27.
Professor Ed Hawkins, climate scientist in the Department of Meteorology, will hand over the specially-designed baton to Professor Peter Miskell, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education & Student Experience) as part of a campus event in celebration of the relay.
A number of local schools, student groups and invited guests will also be present, taking part in climate-related activities, including a weather balloon launch.
