Event Information
Dr Lou Thomas and Dr Cathy Manning are looking to recruit participants (aged 6-14 years) to take part in a study exploring visual processing in autistic and non-autistic children, and currently have lots of availability for testing during the summer holidays.
If you have children that would be interested in taking part, they will play some fun computer games where they decide which direction some fireflies are moving, and which way some striped beetles are facing. We will also do some simple language and reasoning tasks. Autistic children will also complete some additional activities with the researcher.
The task will take around 2 hours to complete for non-autistic children, and around 3 hours for autistic children. You can take part on campus, or Lou can visit you at home.
Families will be given a voucher as a thank-you for taking part and we will reimburse travel expenses if you visit us at the university.
We are looking for participants aged 6-14 years, either with no diagnosed developmental conditions, or with a diagnosis of an autism spectrum condition, for study sessions during the summer holidays.
If you would like some more information about the study, or if your child would be interested in taking part, please email l.j.thomas@reading.ac.uk for further information. You can also book directly by clicking on the 'book' button.
