How to get here

Graduation takes place at the London Road campus in the Great Hall.

How to get here

Arriving by foot, taxi or public transport

If you are already in Reading and plan to arrive by foot, taxi or public transport, then you should make your way directly to the London Road campus, arriving at the time indicated in the Timings for your day page. This gives you time to collect guest wristbands (required for Great Hall entry), collect your robes and join your procession.

Train

The nearest train station to the London Road campus is Reading.

Bus

You can get the Emerald 6 or Claret 21 from just outside Reading train station, to our London Road campus. You should get off at Crown Street and walk the short distance to the campus. More about Reading Buses.

Taxi

Alternatively, you can book a taxi, in advance, or on the day to take you directly to the London Road campus. Please contact one of the following companies:

  • Chiltern Cars 0149 157 8899
  • Loddon Cars 0118 932 1321
  • Yellow Cars 0118 966 6555

Arriving by car

If you are coming by car, free parking is available on the Whiteknights campus (use postcode RG6 6UR). Follow AA signs to the Shinfield Road entrance, where Security Officers will direct you. After you have parked, you will collect your allocated guest ticket(s) from the Wristband Collection Point in Sports Pavillion on the Whiteknights Campus. Toilet facilities will also be available.

Parking is only available at our London Road campus for graduands or guests with disabilities or mobility issues (this must be pre-booked in advance).

Once you have collected your Wristbands, you should board the free shuttle bus service to the London Road campus. This will operate all day between the campuses, stopping at the Acacias Road entrance.

You should arrive at the Whiteknights campus at the time advertised on the timings for your day page. This will ensure you have sufficient time to collect guest wristbands, travel on the shuttle bus to the London Road campus, collect your robes, and join your procession. You will need to make allowances for heavy traffic in Reading and the surrounding areas.

Finding your way around

Student ambassadors, wearing red, will be on hand to assist you. There is also an Information Desk situated in the information marquee on the central lawn on the London Road campus, and in the SportsPark Pavilion on the Whiteknights campus.
