Protecting Yourself

Infectious diseases can spread easily in university communities, as more face-to-face contact means you’re at higher risk of catching and passing on infectious diseases.

It’s really important for all students to be up-to-date with your vaccines before starting university.  To protect yourself ensure you have had:

  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
  • Meningitis ACWY (MenACWY)

If you’ve missed any of your vaccines, contact your local GP (Doctor) or Pharmacist.

You can find out more about the recommended vaccinations for students, and how to book your vaccines, on the NHS website.
