SportsPark membership updates for 2024/25

SportsPark memberships are changing for 2024/25, with new names and some reduced annual fees for staff.

Membership structures and pricing are reviewed every year to ensure the SportsPark is offering attractive options to users, while remaining financially sustainable.

Following last year’s price increase, many prices have been frozen or reduced this year. The names of the main two membership options have been updated to reflect the SportsPark’s Sport and Active Wellbeing Vision, which launched at the start of 2024 with the aim of helping more people than ever benefit from being active on campus.

The membership changes coming into effect for staff from 1 August 2024 are:

• ‘VO2 Max’ memberships (covering unlimited gym, classes and racket sports) will be renamed ‘Sport & Active Wellbeing’ memberships, and ‘VO2’ memberships (unlimited gym and classes) will be renamed ‘Active Wellbeing’ memberships. The staff and student annual fees for both have been reduced to counter a moderate increase to the monthly payment options.
• ‘Pay As You Go’ memberships are now one flat annual rate of £40 for all members. This is an increase from £18 for staff and students, but still offers a far cheaper way of accessing facilities and classes on an ad hoc basis.
• ‘Vacation’ memberships, at a discounted price of £25 per month will now be on offer during the summer, Christmas and Easter teaching breaks. They offer the same benefits as the ‘Active Wellbeing’ memberships. This offer is available now until the end of August.
• Any remaining ‘TennisPark’ memberships will cease from 31 July 2024 and will automatically be cancelled. Either a Sport and Active Wellbeing or Pay As You Go membership will be required to use the courts.
• The Sports and Active Wellbeing memberships now include unlimited access to the ‘Knights Active Pay to Play programme’. This is a new scheme that offers beginners sessions for sports such as netball, tennis and women’s weightlifting to help you try something new. A full timetable of Knights Active sessions will be published on the SportsPark website in September.

The joining fee for all students and staff on monthly memberships will remain at £15, and facility hire charges will remain frozen at last year’s prices until 31 July 2025.

Memberships are available to purchase from the SportsPark website. The updated prices will be displayed when they come into effect in August.
