VC Surgeries return for 2023/24

Colleagues are invited to share practical ideas with the Vice-Chancellor on how life at the University could be enhanced at upcoming VC Surgery sessions.

Suggestions submitted should ideally be linked to one of the four strategic principles of the new University Strategy - Community, Excellence, Sustainability and an Engaged University.

Three sessions have been scheduled for the autumn term:

• Thursday 19 Oct 10 - 11:30

• Monday 20 Nov 11 - 12:30

• Thursday 14 Dec 9:30 - 11:00

Each meeting will last 15 minutes and will take in the Library café on Whiteknights Campus. An online meeting option via Microsoft Teams will also be available if required.

Discussions would ideally take place on a one-to-one basis, but small groups are also welcome

Unlike the Vice-Chancellor's online all-staff briefings, which update all colleagues on major University news, the Surgery sessions offer the chance for a one-to-one discussion on a topic of your choice and are focused on practical ideas to improve life at the University.

Topics discussed in previous Surgery sessions include:

• Improving pedestrian and cyclist access to campus
• Student partnership with a theatre company
• Strengthening links with local entrepreneurs
• Online learning tools
