URS walkway closure as refurbishment work progresses
15 December 2023
The pedestrian walkway in front of the URS building is being fenced off as its long-term refurbishment continues.
URS is currently having repairs and improvement work carried out on the inside and outside of the building, a project that will take a number of years to complete.
While repairs to the outside of the building take place, fencing is being installed around the entire perimeter of URS, including blocking off the undercover walkway at the front of the building.
The access road to the rear of URS will also be fenced off and should not be used.
The fencing will remain in place for the foreseeable future while this work is completed.
Pedestrians should either divert down the path past the flagpole between Whiteknights House and the Library, or past Miller building.
Temporary paths will be in place across the grass between Whiteknights House and URS, and at the opposite and of the building, to allow access to Miller and Wager buildings.
The refurbishment of URS will include repairs and ensure the building better supports the needs of staff and students with modernised teaching and study space for years to come.
