New Strategy Implementation webpages
13 December 2021
Our University's Strategic Plan 2020–2026 outlines our purpose as:
“We act together, using our collective skills and diversity, to deliver a better world through the transformational power of quality education and research.”
The work on delivering on this purpose is guided by four principles:
- Community
- Excellence
- Sustainability (financial and environmental)
- Engaged University.
Implementing the University Strategy is a new section on the University’s website, which highlights how the Strategic Plan is being implemented across all four principles. The webpages cover:
- The vision for the University: where are we going?
- The Strategic Action Plan: how we are implementing the Strategy
- Governing and managing change: how do the strategic implementation activities fit together?
Colleagues will be able to access to a Strategic Action Plan, which brings together all the projects forming a part of this work. The plan is owned by the University Executive Board (UEB) and is based on staff and student feedback, higher education sector developments and financial challenges facing our institution. It is reviewed every month and is updated following the UEB meeting.
The plan includes information on key projects and workstreams aimed at delivering on at least one of the principles and key performance indicators between now and the University’s centenary in 2026. This tracker provides an overview of progress on each of these projects or workstreams.
Several of these projects fall under the Strategic Foundation Programme (SFP), which emerged from the work carried out as part of our Post-COVID-19 Response Programme to respond to the immediate financial challenges posed by the pandemic. You can read more this on the SFP webpages.
