Peer support

Support from our student community. Speak to someone who has been through similar experiences to you.

Connect with fellow students with Peer Support

Peer support can come in many forms, but they all involve giving and receiving support and understanding based on shared experiences.

The Peer support initiatives at Reading enable students to connect with each other on knowledge, experience, emotional, social, or practical help. It typically involves talking and sharing similar experiences or challenges, and creating a relationship based on equality and mutual understanding.

Peer support has been shown to enhance self-esteem and confidence, improve wellbeing, personal growth and resilience, and reduce feelings of isolation.  It can foster a sense of community and understanding, helping students feel validated and supported in their University journey.
