Over the Spring vacation, the opening hours of our services will be changing. However, do not worry! You will still be able to access the help and support you need during this time.
We have provided a summary of the opening hours of our services so you will know how and when you will be able to access the support you need.

Student Services over the Spring Vacation
The Accommodation team will be working normal hours in the Carrington Building Monday to Friday open 8.30pm -5.30pm except for the following:
Thursday 2nd April – Team will be working from home 9-5 as the University has a closure day (UPP doesn’t! 😊) - students will still be able to call or email or contact us via chatbot.
Friday 3rd April - Bank Holiday- Closed
Monday 6th April - Bank Holiday- Closed

Campus Jobs will be closed from Thursday 2 April through Monday 6 April.
Campus Jobs can be contacted by email at campusjobs@reading.ac.uk. Emails will only be responded to once the team have are back in office. The team phone number will not be in use during the closure time.
Careers and Placements will be open the usual hours 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday across the vacation period, except the University Closure days where they will be closed from 2-6 April.
Below is information about the different catering and food outlets closing times during the Spring Vacation:
Bars and Dining
- Park eat will be closed from the 28 March and will re-open on the18 April for food only.
- Park House will be closed from 29 March and will re-open on 10 April. It is closed due to essential building works.
- Eat at the square will be closed from the 28 March and will re-open as normal on 20 April
- Wantage will be closed from the 28 March and will re-open on 20 April.
- St Patricks will be closed from the 28 March and will re-open as normal on 18 April
- The diary will be closed from 2 April to the 7 April with reduced opening and closed on the weekends from 28 March. It will be open Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Normal operating hours will resume from 17 April.
Cafes
- The Library café will be closed from 2 April to 7 April with reduced opening hours and closed on the weekend from 28 March. The cafe will be open Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Normal operating hours will resume from 20 April.
- Dol Che Vita will be closed from 2 April to 7 April with reduced opening hours. It will be open Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Normal operating hours will resume from 20 April.
- The Henley Business School café will be closed from the 2 April to 7 April.
- The Wilderness cafe will be closed from 28 March and will reopen on 20 April.
- The ICMA cafe will be closed from 28 March until 20 April.
- Trilobite will be closed from the 28 March and will re-open as normal on 20 April
- TVSP & Enterprise will be closed from the 2 April and will reopen on 7 April.
Counselling and Wellbeing will be closed from 17 April to 22 April
Usual working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Additional support over the period is available via the 24-7 Support Line and Wisdom App support line open every day including bank holidays.

TEL services will be unavailable for the University's standard closure days and the Easter weekend – Thursday 2nd April to Monday 6th April.
Support closes at 17:00, Wednesday 1st April. Please submit any queries that require a response before the Spring vacation well ahead of this time. During the closure, Blackboard is still available, and you can still raise support queries via DTS@reading.ac.uk. These will answered at the earliest opportunity on Tuesday 7th April 2026 from 09:00.
The Digital Technology Service (DTS) will be closed completely over the Easter long weekend from 5.00pm Wednesday 1 April to 8.00am on Tuesday 7 April. Separate services as below:

Tickets can be submitted via Self Service Portal or by email dts@reading.ac.uk at any time, but are only looked at during office hours (therefore during closure period will not be looked at until Tuesday 6 January).
Laptop loans are available when the Library is open. Be aware that there is no "laptop drop" for returning laptops when the Library is closed.
The IT Counter in the Library will close at 5pm Wednesday 1 April and will reopen at 8.30am on Tuesday 7 April.
Greenlands IT/AV Support will be open on Thursday 2 April, closing at 6pm, and will reopen at 8.30am on Tuesday 7 April.
Email and Self-Service Portal will remain open, however tickets will not be actioned until Tuesday 7 April.
The Out of Hours Service Desk telephone service will be available throughout the holiday period, 24-hours 7days a week, including Good Friday and Easter Monday. Call 0118 378 6262 to access. Note tickets that cannot be completed via phone will be escalated to be looked at from Tuesday 7 April.
The Hall Wardens will be operating an on-call system on the closure and bank holiday dates. (17-22 April)
Students can still call the 24/7,365 operational halls hotline on 0800 029 1984 or Security on 0118 378 6300 and if appropriate those teams will call out the duty Warden.
The 24/7 Helpline 0800 023 2466 operated by Health Assured is still in operation over the Easter break.
The International Student Advisory Team will be closing at 4pm Wednesday 16 April for the vacation closure period and will resume
work on Tuesday 22 April.

Student Finance will be closed from the 17 April- 22 April but will continue to operate as usual for the reception and financial support outside of the closure dates.
The Student Services Reception will be closed from 17 April and will reopen again on 22 April and operate our normal hours which are 10am to 4pm on weekdays.

The Study Advice service is available in person and online all year round apart from University Closure days and Bank Holidays. Appointments are available Mon-Fri 9am -4pm.
The team will continue to offer booked appointments in this vacation period (online and in person) but will not be offering our drop-in service.
Study Advice can be contacted by email at studyadvice@reading.ac.uk this will be monitored during the vacation. Appointments can also be booked via our website during this time.
The drop-in service is semester time only so will finish at the end of teaching time and restart after the vacation, it will be open in the assessment period .
Study Advice can also be contact via the phone on 0118 378 4242 and this will still be available during the vacation despite the desk in the library being closed during this time. The desk is open in the assessment period.
The Support Centres will be closed from 2 April to 6 April.
Details of contact information can be found on the Student Support Coordinators Essentials webpage or students are advised to contact us via Ask a Question but there will be no responses until we return on 7 April.
Additionally, the Support Centre front desks will be open from 11am to 3pm between 30 March and 17 April. Students can contact us by phone from 10:30am to 4pm and can also reach us via Ask a Question.
Welfare will be closed from 2-6 April. The welfare drop-ins will be closed during the break.
