Postgraduate Taught degrees
Access tuition fees for postgraduate taught courses.
Financial support available to you
A Postgraduate Loan available from the Government can help with course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate master’s course.
Funding for postgraduate loans is different if you normally live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Moving somewhere to study doesn’t count as normally living there.
You have to repay your Postgraduate Loan at the same time as any other student loan you have. You’ll be charged interest from the day you get the first payment.
You may also be able to get extra support if you have a disability.
If you apply for a Postgraduate Loan, unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for an Adult Dependants’ Grant, a Childcare Grant or Parents’ Learning Allowance.
Postgraduate Research degrees
Fees for postgraduate research students can be found on our Doctoral and Researcher College website Doctoral and Researcher College page.
As with Postgraduate taught degrees, the Government offers Doctoral Loans to PhD students, this funding is available to help with tuition fees and living costs, these loans are repaid in the same way as a Postgraduate loan, alongside any undergraduate loans you may have.
Find out more about your financial obligations as a postgraduate student by reading the University's fees policy.
