The Reading Internship Scheme connects University of Reading undergraduates with organisations through short-term, paid internships. Projects are set by you – from social media or research to marketing, data analysis, project management, and more.

Timelines

  • Employer applications: rolling, Sept 2025 – May 2026
  • Semester internships: part-time (up to 20 hrs/week), Oct 2025 – May 2026, 140–350 hrs
  • Summer internships: part-time or full-time, June – Aug 2026, 4–11 weeks. All internships must finish by 4 Sept 2026.

For External Employers

  • Must have: Employer’s & Public Liability insurance, PAYE set-up, Companies House/Charity Commission registration, and at least two employees.
  • Salary contribution grants available for eligible charities and SMEs. Larger organisations can still participate (without grants) and benefit from scheme promotion.
